Re: How to polish internals

I bought a used X7 with R/T to compliment mt X7 with E trigger & I could never find that sweet spot. I have some extra time today so I polished mine with some steel wool and finished it off with some metal polish on a buffing wheel. Wow did it ever shine up. Now the responce trigger works like a champ. Before I would be luck to get off 3 round burst...now I could empty the hopper. I dont know if it helped but I am happy. Thanks

Re: How to polish internals

I decided to give this a go as well. My first "mod" ever on my first marker ever.

This how the internals were before:

This how they look after:

First I scrubbed them with Steel Wool Sponges and cleaning detergent,
Then I washed them out with aceton / ethanol,
Then I washed them out with hot water,
Had them out to dry outside in the sun.
Lubricated it and reassembled the marker.

Took me about 1 hour and 40 min I got carried away scrubbing hehe.

Thanks for the handy and clear tutorial.

Re: How to polish internals

Quick questions. Can i use SOS pads on the internals? they are made out of steel wool, but they have some sort of soap in them. And also, im getting confused about this O-ring that people are talking about that is glued in. Are we supposed to remove it, or leave it?

Also, it said WD-40 could cause some damage to the gun? Why did you use it then?

You can use SOS pads. If you searched for SOS you would have found this answer on your own. It has been asked many times.

The oring is on the R receiver half. You should remove it or you take the chance of damaging it during the procedure. Pry it out gently so as not to nick the rubber. Some are glued in and some are not. Mine came out easily and I do not glue mine in place. The Power tube holds it securely it its groove.

WD-40 is not required. Just use warm water and the SOS pad. The soap in them will be your lubricant. Wd-40 will eat your orings so do not use it on your marker... only use paintball marker oil or pure Lube.

i actually use some marker oil to help polish mine...it was enough to lube the scotchbrite pad i used "which is like the sos pad only synthetic materials and no soap"...it also hellped lift away the paint making the cleanup much easier.

Re: How to polish internals

I use smaller roller paint runner head without the handle with some autosol for light polishing. Use a clean head to mop up when finishing

Re: How to polish internals

the main thing is to polish the internals evenly... like porting of a engine block..just thinking out loud.. perhaps bothe the body should be screwed in without the internals and find something round that you can put polishing material for a even polish?
