Dono4lf What IS the best M4 stock?

Ok, I won my new X7 on ebay a few days ago and it just got shipped out today. So Im wanting to order some parts for it ASAP and the only thing I can't make up my mind on is which M4 style collapsible stock to buy.

I have seen threads about some having issues fitting and some having the butt piece be loose(I know it can be fix easily).

I am just wondering what the best one out is? The ones I know about right now are, Opsgear, RAP4, Tippmann, Tapco, Trinity. There might be more.

So let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Re: What IS the best M4 stock?

Tapco makes as close to the real steel version as they come (they actually make many aftermarket M4 parts) ...I had one on my A5 and it was a quality piece. Only reason I removed it was going with an HK-PDW look rather then the m16/m4 look.

Welcome to the X7OG Operator!!

Re: What IS the best M4 stock?

I've got a rap4 and while better than the tippmann piece, it still has some wobble. For two bucks though, you can take it apart, put some of the "loop" side of some hook and loop velcro on the inside of the stock, and it acts like a spacer against the tube while allowing it to slide. There's a post on here somewhere that details how to do it. Best thing is, most of the stocks out there are only $40ish, making anyone who buys the piece of junk from tippmann for $80 a damn fool. I haven't seen a tapco CAR stock for the X7 yet but thats not saying its not out there.

I wouldn't say that at all. When I bought mine, there were only Tippmann/SpecOps upgrades at the time. I also don't undertand why you'd call them junk.

Re: What IS the best M4 stock?

I think Rogue just meant anyone now...You are right Mutt, we didn't have much of a choice in the beginning. The only reason Tippmann's could be considered junk compared to the rest is the use of a plastic tube versus the metal parts more common now.

I call them junk because when I buy a stock, especially one for $80, i don't expect the end of it to shake around and wobble all over the place. For the amount of time it took them to get it to market, and the amount they charge, Tipp/SO should be ashamed of that thing. If I were Tippmann, with the rep for quality that they have, I wouldn't even want my name on it.

I may have been a bit harsh with my choice of wording, and I did mean that anyone who buys that stock NOW would be pretty foolish, now that there are better stocks for HALF the price. Like I said, if I can get a better product at RAP4 of all places, that says enough!

Re: What IS the best M4 stock?

I get you now. Like I said, at the time that's all that was available when I got mine, same with all the other M4 parts I bought. I felt then as well as now that the Air through was too high, the car stock was a cheaper alternative.

Re: What IS the best M4 stock?

Thanks for the fast responses guys.

So is it better to go with an all aluminum piece rather then one of the plastic ones?

I going to have to agree hear, for $80 and the time it took for it to be released. I am very disappointed with with Tippmann and SO. I paid $40 for my old car stock on my A5 and that didn't wobble at all. Also there was a nice piece of plastic to slip your sling through so you sling didn't slide around the end of the stock. Lets not for get to mention how there is no cap at the end of the stock. I can't tell you guys how many times I had to clean dirt out of my car stock after a game.
