If your trigger works on safety then YOU DON"T HAVE THE SAFETY SWITCH in the SAFETY POSITION but in a position between safety and semi. ie still in Semi mode.

The safety switch when in the true safety position WILL NOT ALLOW the trigger to be pulled/moved at all.

Look at the selector switch when it is in safety the bottom bump on the grip should be covered. If you can see the bottom bump and the switch is pointing at the safety position you are still in semi auto mode and not in safety. This is an issue with the position of the switch and the writing/position on the grips. Don't use the line and the writing to determine what setting you are in. Use the bumps on the grip.

You can have the same issue between Semi and FA the switch will point to FA but your still in Semi.

Re: HOW TO:APE Rampage board install

no i know i have it in safety you push it all the way up to the top bump and the trigger will not move. It move very little not to the point where its like its not on it more like if you left a screw loose you can wiggle it a little. I'll see if i can put a video or something

Glad to hear it guys! I'm still working on my issue where it fires 3 round burst sporadically on the release when in REACTIVE mode.

Re: HOW TO:APE Rampage board install

I have not installed mine yet, so I'm very interested in your board problems. I upgraded to the ape board because I was having lot of issues with my Tippmann board. I am currently on my 3rd board and it has been working great ever since I installed it. Ya know, I did hesitate before buying it because it is the first batch...but then the excitement overtook me and I clicked away.

Re: HOW TO:APE Rampage board install

I don't think it is a problem with the electronics/board in my case.

All of our installs of the board will be slightly different depending on how much we remove from the grip and the clamshell around the board. The sensitivity of the trigger also depends on trigger slop.

I finally ran some paint through my marker and have an uncocking issue.

Video here

You may tend to say I was low on air after viewing the video, but I had 3k in my tank.

I've emailed APE support and am awaiting a reply.

I THINK I need to adjust either the dwell or debounce.

I'll let you know what APE says. I've also asked them if there is a way to set the board back to factory defaults.

Re: HOW TO:APE Rampage board install

Hey Kanuck, I first want to say many thanks for this post!! I installed my ape board last night and the only thing I did differently was use my wire clippers to totally remove that piece from the right grip. Slapped it back together and whalla it worked!! Now, I did not get to try it with air attached but it made all of the right clicky sounds in all of its modes.

The first thing I did after putting it back together was hold the the button in to turn in on like I always did before. Duh! Don't need to with this board. That's how you enter the programming mode.

Good News - My egrip now functions like the real thing. Safety, ultra quick single shot (clicky pen mod ), or full auto. The ability to switch on the fly between single and full auto was the main reason I went with the X7 vs the A5.

Bad News - How will I know when the battery is getting weak? The light does not blink or light up when I pull the trigger. I guess after some time I'll get a feel for how many rounds the battery will last
