Re: Need a speedball gun, But what to buy?

From what I understand, and from my experience, you absolutely cant go wrong with a good used DM6. I think you can pick one up in your price range and may be able to score a few extras as well. Either way you go, you can browse through the Buy, Sell, Trade section of any of the Operators Group forums and find some good deals and also find honest people to deal with. Good luck.

Re: Need a speedball gun, But what to buy?

I own 2 minis. I bought one new and one used a month later. I have only had one go down on me and that was my fault, Due to poor packing in my jeep and improper reassembly on my part, the bottom air transfer tube broke off. They don't like extreme cold but once you get it shooting it runs just fine.

The mini's asa is a reg you can run either high or low pressure tanks to it. To clean and lube it for basic maintenance you need to remove one screw to the rear of the grip frame and all the guts will come out the back.

As for reliability I go with the mini over the G3 hands down. Two of my team mates have G3's and both have went down on several occasions. One of my team mates owned a mini in addition to his G3, it always worked and hes the type of guy that breaks everything. I have also seen more than enough G3's go down at various fields to convince me not to buy one but thats just my personal experience

Re: Need a speedball gun, But what to buy?

I have had the pleasure of shooting both. However, I have seen multiple G3's go down and I have yet to see a mini fail. If you do get a mini, make sure it has the most recent board in it. The original boards had some issues. You will most likely be able to pick up a nice used mini with all the fixin's for around $400 (HPA tank, hopper, mask and all the extras to keep it running smooth.) If I were to go and buy a new space gun right now, my choice would be mini!

Re: Need a speedball gun, But what to buy?

Yep, Like I said earlier, the SLG is a piece of junk. I had it for a month and experienced NOTHING but problem after problem. Traded up for my Mini and never looked back.

Since I got my Ego10 in Jan, Rei (My Mini) had been in her case resting. Took her out this weekend and put a case through her....I totally forgot how clean of a shot she was.

Re: Need a speedball gun, But what to buy?

the g3 is the way to go i think. i have a g3 and its sweet.

has the flip lever on/off
small and light.
decent barrel
super easy maint. the back cap just screwes out and the bolt is the only thing thats in there, lube it up and thats that. i think like 6 o rings or so.

i have mine with the tech t engine so it screws off by hand. makes it even easier and faster.

i also have the ape oled board, thats sweet too, but if your gonna go semi then the stock board is more then fine. its basically only missing 3 shot burst.

im running with a evo 3 and its fine on there so far, i havent tested it on super high rate of fire yet, but at semi, no breaks and no breaks on 13 bps auto.

go g3

Re: Need a speedball gun, But what to buy?

there are tons of g3 vs mini posts on the net.

depending on where you go ppl will say
"so and so always break down, go for -----"

both are quality markers, im betting you have just as much chance of a break down with either,

some ppl have lotsa problems with their x7 other like me have never had a ball break and never had anything go wrong.

same with my tm7 , no problems at all.
i swear the ppl with the problems dont maintain their stuff or just treat it like crap. heh

anyways what im saying is id go for whatever you like the feel of and also what your tastes are. like what you think looks sexier.

both are great markers, but i chose the g3 cuz i didnt like the mini reg, looked strange to me.

Hmmm what about the Nxt Shocker ? Im sure you can pick up a decent one fully upgraded within your budget. Shockers shoot really smooth and stand out from the rest imo.
