Angry Bad Ebay Seller....

Ok, so I have to vent. I found a Tacamo AK Wood Stock for the X7 on ebay and it has either a "Buy it Now" option or a "Make an Offer" option. So, I figure I'll make a decent offer on it. Few hours go buy and I check and see that my offer has been declined - no counter offer, just declined. So, I think no big deal I come down some and send another offer (this one is only $8.00 lower than the buy it now price). It is now the next day, and I check and it has ALSO been declined with no counter offer or anything! I'm a little upset so I send the seller a question as follows:

I have a question....Why put the "make an offer" option on this item if you're not going to make a counter offer? Do you know how that works? The potential buyer makes an offer and if the seller wants to go higher than they make a counter offer and it goes from there back and forth. Just some advice.

his reply:
I fully understand how it works! I have been selling online for 3 years now. On smaller items I dont go back and forth. I get hunderds of offers dailyand on large items I will but a small item I just wait untill its close and accept..

my reply to his comment:
Well, I probably would have paid the buy it now price but, since you've wasted my time for the past 2 days I won't bother. If you don't plan on going back and forth on these "smaller" items, then I suggest you only go with a buy it now option rather than the apparent false best offer option.

Just urked about the whole thing.

Re: Bad Ebay Seller....

Not a good ebay seller in my opinion. If he wants full price for it, Make an Offer should not be listed as an option. There's smart sellers out there that know better than to do that. I feel for ya mate.

Re: Bad Ebay Seller....

Sorry for your ordeal. That's a bunch of crap.

Re: Bad Ebay Seller....

That's exactly how i got my X7. I made an offer close to the end of the auction. Someone paid the "buy it now" price. About 30 min later i got an e-mail stating they had a few more left and would accept my offer. That is the first and only time i have got lucky on e-bay though.

Re: Bad Ebay Seller....

That sucks man. I buy a lot of my paintball gear off of eBay and have very good luck. What was the sellers name?

Re: Bad Ebay Seller....

Thanks for your support fellas. I've had a chance to cool off some. He replied to my last comment:

Wow I have never seen anyone get so bent out of shape...I dont need customers like you anyway...Good day

Maybe I did go a little overboard, but still - if you don't plan to use the "make an offer" feature the way it is supposed to be, don't list it as a buying option. Does anyone else agree or am I just being crazy?

I don't wanna post the seller's information on the forum, but I will give it to anyone that requests through PM. Even if he did wrong me, I don't want to do that.

yeah, unfortunately you can't leave negative feedback for a seller unless you actually buy something from them! I'm thinking about trying to contact ebay and seeing if I can somehow leave feedback with them about the seller. I actually thought about buying it from him just so that I could leave super negative feedback on him (he has spotless reputation so far).

Re: Bad Ebay Seller....

The seller is doing nothing wrong.

I never do a counter offer, its not tha it is SUPPOSED to be used, it is an OPTION for the seller.

Just because you didnt get your way in an auction, is no reason to gripe here like the other party did anything wrong, they did not

Sorry, I really feel this thread is not appropriate

Re: Bad Ebay Seller....

thats why i try to steer clear of ebay as much as possible...that and the people buying and selling $23,000 ps3 boxes pushed me away.

last thing i bought there was my guitar...nothing special, its a fender squirestart. im just learning so i didnt want to drop big bucks on a better one yet.

im watching the counter its down to an hour. then to half hour.
the bid is sitting at $90 and i lost it then. i bid $95, he bid $96 i bid $100 he bid $101...the whole ill go this high...bid for me thing is annoying.

3 seconds left on the counter i bid $105.25...i out bid him by a quarter
