Automag Help

I am hoping I will get some help from the MAG brigade here. I have a lot to ask...

I am getting that itch again........for something new for the collection.

I am hooked on Automags right now since buying my 68 custom brand new a few months back. Yes brand new but 15 years old at a local store...I posted on it I think when I got it.

I love my etek for how it shoots and would love to have something that shoots on par but all mechanical.

Not really completely sure of the route I am looking to go here but determined it will be a MAG.

I have been looking at the RT ULE with ULT on the AGD website. What can I expect from this marker? Is it walkable like an electro? Or is its speed come from sweetspotting the RT?

It would be cool to get a mech......better yet.....the only mech in my eyes LOL....a MAG, that shoots like am etek. (The MAG heads will like that one.....). I dont lay paint that much anyways but like the speed when needed and the ergonomics of this type of marker.

Or maybe the RT effect would be cool for something different. I like variety in the marker "experience" with each new "baby" in the collection. I have a pump, a high end electro, a pistol, a straight foreward semi auto mech, egripped milsim......you get the point. Had an A5 with RT as my first marker but found it finicky to use....smae with the MAG?

Are RT's Rec field legal?
Is it all in the sweetspot or is it tuned in a way or can be tuned in a way to just assist in fast semi auto shooting?

Are we talking pneumag at this point or is 8-10 bps easily achievable from the stoch RT ule with ult? Nto sure how much I really achieve that anyway.....

If pneumag is it easy to do? Are there kits for it? From what I have found it seems to be a DIY thing not an OEM upgrade.

intelliframe ot Y frame ......consensus?

I am sure this will open more questions.........

First off... Xvalve w/ULT walkable? (that would be an RT Pro)
Some people claim it can be, but its never going to be like an etek microswitch click. i would say no, not walkable.

The speed usually comes from the RT effect, which comes from the output pressure of your tank... higher the output more RT goodness! we are talkin' 1100 PSI to really rip.

It would be cool to get a mech......better yet.....the only mech in my eyes LOL....a MAG, that shoots like am etek. (The MAG heads will like that one.....). I dont lay paint that much anyways but like the speed when needed and the ergonomics of this type of marker.

Mag that shoots like an ETEK? How about an egomag?

Seriously though, if you are looking for a mech walkable trigger you will probably need a Pnuemag.

Or maybe the RT effect would be cool for something different. I like variety in the marker "experience" with each new "baby" in the collection. The mag RT feels different... not sure why exactly... the trigger doesnt move as far i think... it just feels crisper and more refined than a tippmann RT.

Are RT's Rec field legal?

Field legal? depends on the field... PSP legal? McG and i were just looking at this rule... one ball per conscious trigger pull... so NOT PSP legal.

Is it all in the sweetspot or is it tuned in a way or can be tuned in a way to just assist in fast semi auto shooting?

It DOES help with the semi shooting... i can probably crank away at 7-8 bps on one of my xvalved mags without too much trouble... i was just doing this tonight.

Are we talking pneumag at this point or is 8-10 bps easily achievable from the stoch RT ule with ult? Nto sure how much I really achieve that anyway.....

8-10 is EASY with the RT... there are vids of people doing more than 20 bps all mech

If pneumag is it easy to do? Are there kits for it? From what I have found it seems to be a DIY thing not an OEM upgrade.

There are several people over on automags.org that offer pnuemag conversion services... even sleeper pnuemags (i want one!)

intelliframe ot Y frame ......consensus?

i LOVE my y-grip... inteliframe is good mojo too though... I sill want to get my hands on a vert grip... i think that would be the best of both worlds

I am sure this will open more questions.........

We talked about this weeks ago, bro.

Clearly, you don't know what you're talking about, noob.

Read the NCPA rules, which is what we were talking about. It's modified PSP.

Page 19, specifically. http://ncpapaintball.com/wp-content/...ARules2010.pdf

Noob in regards to reference of me. Don't bring me in to your nooby nonsense if it's not true. Read the NCPA rules...

With many pnuemags the LPR and LP hoses are exposed, a sleeper pnuemag puts all the components inside the frame... i will dig up a pic!

Thanks for the response.

Hmm 1100psi. My tank is a crossfire SS 68/4500. Not an adjustable reg and from what I know is around 850 psi. Is that an issue for the RT? Maybe thats why the tippmann was sluggish for me?

Yeah I'm not expecting it to be an electro with a switch but somewhere closer. Somewhere between my 68 classic and the etek. Like I said I dont think that I by any means tap the full potential of the etek from a BPS standpoint. It is more about the ergonomics, smoothness and easyness on paint and so on. But the ability to rip a bit on occasion in semi with ease is nice. To be honest I have my max BPS capped at 10 and havent found it a hinderence.

What is the difference between the RT pro and this?:

Paintball guns - the Airgun Designs RT ULE Custom paintball gun - you customize this paintball gun the way you want it

This is what I have been looking at. At least as a basline for this discussion.
It seems there is a host if incarnations of the mags so I am not entirely farmiliar with the differnces. This one says it has the X valve, lev 10 etc. What seems to be all the OEM top end goodness. I guess its the aftermarket and DIY stuff that I am a bit lost on.

thank you again

and where is MAGpie and seymoure on this subject........LOL

Surprisingly I actually knew that one. Found some nugget somewhere describing how they look like a run of the mill MAG and the pneumatic trigger activation??????? is hidden.

All the question marks because that is where my knowledge on the subject withers.

Pnuemag.....? definition?

From what I have gathered it is some sort of trigger mechanism(upgrade DIY) that is run by air to make it shoot faster(quicker trigger action in semi?)......more like an electro maybe. Sorry if I keep making this comparison but it it a contemporary baseline for performance.....

Re: Automag Help

I assume that a mag rt would be perfectly fine on a standard 850. But the super high pressure is if you want a ridiculously fast rt bps.

If I am correct, I believe ninja paintball who just came out with a whole series of tank regulators, specific to certain guns. The series included a reg that satisfied 1100 psi guns, such as the rts. Boy can those things throw ropes at that that pressure.

They also had super low pressure regs for efficient markers, and adjustable regs.
