Theory of solution (ball breaks)
Hi everyone. As a phenom owner I have same problems as almost every users of phenom - ball breaks. I was studying a lot of topics here and everywhere I've found something about our marker. And I found (here) something about bad ball detent placing inside. Because of that ball have a lot of place and abilities to back to cyclone. There was few people here who says it can be a reason of ball breaks. Well, I think that I have a solution - longer paddles. Just add some rubber stripe to each middle paddle. It must be long (and thin) enough to get outside of cyclone and hold the ball as close to bolt as possible. Extended paddles will work as an extra ball detent and also will not allow to ball to go back to the cyclone. Rubber should be soft enough to let the cyclone turn easily and also let the bolt work correctly. Unfortunatelly I don't have tools to do this in my home and try it. That's why it's ONLY A THEORY. If someone is so crazy and can try this... Maybe it will help. I'll try to make this paddles as soon as I can and let you know how it works. And sorry 4 my english

Re: Theory of solution (ball breaks)
I was thinking about something like this. Bad draw, I know but wanna to show You what I ment. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E...0/SNC00001.jpg Integrated paddles and ball detent function extra allow to keep the ball straight in front of bolt. Added paddles should be soft enough to easily hide into the cyclone to work properly

Re: Theory of solution (ball breaks)
Here is what i did: i put a Planet Eclipse detend in the chamber preventing the paintball from rolling back towards the cyclone. I used a Dremel to make a slot into the receiver. Here some pics:
![]() ![]() ![]() I also had to cut the detend a little bit, because it could be hit by the bolt very easily. Again some pics (first pic is the uncut detend!!!!!): ![]() ![]() ![]() I could tilt the gun about 45° to the right and the ball still sits good in front of the bolt. ![]() As you can see: The gun i tilt towards the cyclone and the ball sits in a good position. ![]() I was not yet able to test this mod on the field, but i think that any other barrelbreaks from now should blame the paint and not the cyclone. BTW: i also made a short video-comparison of a stock cyclone, cyclone with metal ratchet, and metal ratchet + shortened piston spring CycloneFeed Vergleich - YouTube Hopefully this will help ![]() EDIT: SORRY for the large pics........... |

Re: Theory of solution (ball breaks)
Some guy from our polish forum find out easier patent to hold ball inside bolt chamber. It's his idea, not mine but i think it's very good. No dremel, no tools (well, need scissors). Just a piece of plastic between the body and cyclone. But works well. Simple and easy to install/uninstall. His photo:

I did this very similar thing for my phenom but for my rip clip! Since the last 2 balls seem to roll around and one gets chopped!
