First the Product, then the Review
Stock Photos: They are made By IRONCLAD (https://www.ironclad.com/www/product...D=118&catID=25) They are classified as "general work / utility gloves". They have a neoprene type back with a pretty flexible palm (with reinforcements and padding). I saw them at Dick's Sporting goods (not sure if they're available elsewhere) and they retail there for $24.95. I got mine for less than $20 on ebay. http://search.ebay.com/search/search...Camo&category0= Right now there's only one guy selling them: Chadrad from CID Sales.... not sure if there will be others in the future or not. ================================================== ================= Review: Color me IMPRESSED!!!! I used these for the first time during a hot/humid 10hr Scenario event and couldn't have been more happier with their comfort/durability. First off - Heat These babies can BREATH!! My uniform was soaked, my mask was soaked, my hands.... were dry. The gloves did get a little damp, but not the uncomfortable "soggy" feeling. The easy solution was to take them off during the break and place them on the tailgate - in an hour, they were bone-dry again. Not only that, no bleeding of the dye in the palm material. No more purple/blue/black hands for me. - 10 out of 10 Protection Palm: The scenario was held in a heavily wooded area of Virginia. There were trails but more often than not, I was off the beaten path crawling through the underbrush. I reached out, moved a vine outta my way and only when it scratched across my arm did I realize it was a thornbush. Never even felt the jaggers when I grabbed it. -- Palm Protection EXCELLANT!!! 11 out of 10 Back: Again, the neaoprene is extremely breathable. I'm positive that the logo placement will protect your knuckles, but chalk one up to Murphy's Law - now that my knuckles were protected, I didn't take a hit there. (can't say I'm that upset about it though) The only problem is with the material on the "thumb". Again, thick underbrush with lots of thorn bushes, the material on the thumb was a little "furry" at the end of the day. (no holes, just snaggs and rubs) I'll have to wait and see if this worsens each time or how it will hold up -- 8 out of 10 -- Flexability: I was able to reach back and pull a pod, reload, put pod back in it's sleeve and secure it as if I wasn't wearing gloves at all. Excellant "sensitivity" with these gloves. -- 10 out of 10 Wash N Wear: To test the last thing possible... washing... I threw them in the washer last night. Now, I fully hoped they would withstand a washing machine, but there's always the worry that they would end up in a stiff "clump" because of the material on the palm. (you know, how leather gloves do when they get soaked)..... THEY CAME OUT GREAT!!!!!!! Nice and clean, palms still really flexible, the fraying on the thumbs no worse than when they went in.... I was HIGHLY impressed!!! 11 out of 10 OVERALL: Couldn't ask for a better glove for Scenario play. Less than $20.00, durable, protective, COMFORTABLE!!!!! These gloves have earned the NoNeck Seal of Approval.

Re: Ironclad Digi Camo Utility Gloves
LOL... nah.... Didn't forget. That wasn't in the "Product REVIEWS" section.
It was just a "heads up" cause I though they were cool. Said I'd do a "proper review" after I used them. BTW: Did you get to test yours out this weekend? Agree/disagree with my statements? |

I also purchased those gloves and beside with a colours issue, I can pretty much agree with what as said here.
(I also happen to use them at work in the cold room they work good there too, keeps hands warm and nice hold on stuff.) |

Affirmative..... Foxtrot and I ordered them about the same time. I got to use mine first - or else it would be HIS review. The reason the post probably looks familiar is because I had posted about the gloves in the "Gear" section when I ordered mine (and said I'd write a proper review once I used them). ** Probably could've just posted the review there, but wanted to try an adhere to the "structure" of the forums... "Talk about Gear -- Here" and "Product Reviews -- over here".... Speaking of.... I should probably copy it and post it over on A5OG as well. (Unless someone already has?) Re: Ironclad Digi Camo Utility Gloves
Since there seems to be some renewed interest in these gloves, I'd like to take a moment to share something with you all. (it has to do with the guy/company that sells these on ebay)....
I contacted the guy (chadrad is his ebay name and the company is CID Sales LLC.) and informed him that I purchased a set of these gloves for the purpose of paintball and he should think of marketing these to paintballers if sales were going slow. He was very receptive and wanted to know more, so I explained that I had made a review of them, as they turned out to work quite well for woodsball, and the review had sparked interest in several other people. After a few additional emails, about what sites I visited and what kind of products paintballers were interested in.... I received a package in the mail from CID Sales. Now, in one of those emails he had asked what size shirt I wore (yes, I can put 2 and 2 together) so I figured it was a t-shirt from his company. But that wasn't all. Inside the package was another pair of XL Ironclad camo gloves as well as a hand written note. Synopsis of the note was to thank me for my ideas and business I may have inadvertantly sent his way via the reviews. I just wanted to share that with you all. It's NOT meant to sway you one way or another, just nice to see someone doing something out of courtesy rather than looking for something in return. |
